For their development, children need to create their own separate room where they can play, learn and relax. The size, shape, design of the room and the age, gender and number of children should also be taken into account.

The children’s room usually has to be multifunctional, as in this room the children sleep, play, learn and store their toys and clothes. If our possibilities allow, it is worth choosing a room as large as possible for the children, but unfortunately this is not always possible.

In a small room, proper design and layout is very important to keep all the furniture comfortable, while leaving enough air space and play space for the children. If the room is for two or more children, a good solution is to get bunk beds, which save space and at the same time provide a comfortable sleep for the babies.

Neither the sofas nor the folding armchairs are recommended for frequent sleep because they are not good for the back or spine. When choosing furniture, also make sure that children reach the drawers, closet doors, larger wardrobes, and screw bookshelves to the wall, thus ensuring that if the child clings to or climbs on the closet, it will not tip over and to fall on the child. You can already get furniture that grows almost with the kids, such as beds that can be converted from a crib to a teenage bed. The furniture and murals colour the children’s rooms.

Use cheerful, bright colours in the children’s room, choose patterns and wall decorations according to their age and gender.

Many storage facilities should be provided in the nursery for the orderly and transparent storage of clothes and toys as well as learning aids. Also, create a student corner in the room if you already have a school-age child, because a calm, fenced area where the child can concentrate on his / her tasks and lesson writing is very important for effective learning.

Another important feature of the children’s room is safety, so it is possible to obtain furniture and ornaments that are not sharp, sharp and that do not cause injury to children.

You can also use non-slip mats or floor mats, parquet or wooden floors are best for cleanability, but the mat is also recommended in this case, as it provides a comfortable, soft, warm feeling when children are playing while sitting on the floor.

The sound of the rooms is improved by various acoustic products, but the furniture, murals and stuffed animals are also able to absorb a certain amount of sound. The thick, densely woven acoustic mat can also effectively reduce the noise of children rumbling and playing ball.
Let’s not forget the lighting! When children are playing, drawing, or learning, light is needed strong enough to see well in the evening and not strain their eyes.

In front of the window surfaces, we recommend thick, densely woven sound-absorbing curtains, soundproofing curtain that not only block light but also attenuate external noise. The basic condition for the afternoon rest of young children and babies is silence, calmness and proper darkening, so that external factors do not interfere with the peaceful rest. If we live in a condominium, unfortunately, any noise that can disturb our child in the rest may pass through a wall shared with the neighbour. Therefore, it is recommended to place sound-absorbing acoustic panels on the walls of the nursery, which are available in a wide variety of colors, patterns and designs, and significantly dampen the unpleasant noise that infiltrates.

However, these acoustic panels are not just for insulating against external noise. If you have a larger, possibly teenage child who often listens to music out loud, these sound-absorbing elements also improve the acoustics of the room. It is also worth ensuring that the children’s rooms are properly soundproofed for peaceful family togetherness.
