China has recently started producing the Chinese J-20 Stealth Fighter, and has become the second only country to produce aircrafts with radar-evasion on a big scale. This warplane was first debuted in December 2010 at Chengdu Aerospace airfield located in South East of China. Chengdu Aerospace Corporation is an airplane maker and is the builder of these warplanes, whereas 611 institutes is the designer of the Chengdu J-20 fighter. This warplane is comparable to the US aircrafts; F-22 and F-35 and is called a multi-role combat plane having stealthy features. The most noticeable feature of this fighter plane is the precision of attack and the long-range interception.
The Chinese Stealth Fighter Features:
The Chinese Stealth Bomber has a weapon carriage system similar to the Lockheed Martin F-22. It comprises of large under-fuselage bay for transporting large equipment like missiles and surface attack weapons and two lateral bays for small equipment like the imaging-infrared PL-10 and air-to-air missiles. There is a sensor suite which includes AESA radar of large array and an electro-optical targeting system (EOTS). This sensor suite system has been developed by the NRIET (Nanjing Research Institute of Electronics Technology). The J-20 stealth fighter jet has a wide-angle holographic head-up display and three different color displays in the cockpit. There is a retractable refueling probe present at the forward fuselage on its starboard side. All the suites, especially the avionic ones have been tested for accuracy by the CFTE (China Flight Test Establishment).
The J-20 Stealth Fighter in comparison to the F-35:
The US warplane F-35 is very expensive; it costs around $400 billion to develop this fighter plane and around 20 years of development time. This aircraft is considered as the most expensive one in the US Air Force and it was debuted in 2011 for the first time. If we compare this to the Chinese Stealth Bomber, the F-35 has taken more time and cost and is still comparable to the Chinese warplane in terms of the performance and features.

Talking about the design and structure of both warplanes, we’ll find that the J-20 has a delta wing canard layout and the F-35 has a diamond-wing conventional layout. The front look of both the planes is however quite similar. It is expected that the Chengdu J-20 fighter will be having WS-10 engines instead of the WS-15 which means it will have a better engine performance. The F-35 has Pratt & Whitney F135 as the main engine and F136 (The General Electric/Rolls Royce) as an alternative engine. According to sources, the J-20, which is still in development mode, will use advanced radar as mentioned above. This warplane also appears to be more stealth as compared to other combat aircrafts like F-22 and F-35.
